The Rod and Gun Club is located along the Barron River on the boundry of Everglades National Park amidst lush plants and surrounded by extraordinary, and exotic birds. The rare and distinctive ecosystem allows you the chance to glimps one of our native animals, reptiles, or fish! This striking atmosphere awaits all on a historical quest!

From family vacations to honeymooners, from a business man to the seeker of rest and relaxation, or from a fisherman all the way to president, the Rod and Gun Club is the perfect vacation spot for anyone and everyone seeking a glimpse of the 20th century!

The illustrious stays and visits, from past to present, include none other than those made by Presidents Roosevelt, Truman, Eisenhower, Hoover, and Nixon - Actors John Wayne, Burt Reynolds, Sally Field, Sean Connery, Danny Glover, and Joe Pesci - Novelist Ernest Hemingway - and even the English Rock musician of the Rolling Stones, Mick Jagger.

ImageBurt Ives and Gypsy Rose Lee were guests in 1945 while on location filming "Winds Across the Everglades". On 1983, during the filming of "Cannonball Run", Kate Jackson, Burt Reynolds, and Sally Field visited here. Other guests were Mick Jagger, Jeri Hall, and William Kennedy in 1991; as well as David Carradine, Roy Clark, Mel Tillis, Eddie Arnold, and Jack Nicklaus. Location filming of "Just Cause" brought Sean Connery and the shooting of Walt Disney's "Gone Fishing" brought Danny Glover and Joe Pesci. And the list goes on ...

The Rod and Gun Club offers accommodations for everyone! Come and stay in one of the quaint cottages, join us for lunch on our covered patio and relax by the pool; instead maybe you'd like to experience the historical town and then join us to enjoy the elegant dining area, and unwind in the lovely ambiance of the cocktail lounge, or perhaps you are one to indulge dockside and then have the chef prepare your catch to your likening.
